As the framework for Recharge, we will use an approach called Food & Spirit™ which fuses the latest in nutritional science and lifestyle medicine with the ancient wisdom of the chakra system, as a means to contextualise your health and explore and address seven clusters of mind, body and emotional dimensions which can impact your energy.
In this model, your energy centres are a series of seven interconnected psycho-neuro-endocrine systems. That means they work through the mental, emotional, and subtle energy channels to manifest effects in brain and nerve centres, endocrine glands, organs, body regions and parts - working to either lead a person towards illness or health.
We start your journey with a Whole Self Assessment to help bring your awareness to the root causes of your personal energy imbalances. Your physical stress response, food and eating habits, emotional wellbeing, relationships, work-play balance, limiting thought patterns, self-care, and sleep are all vital and interconnected components of health, inner balance and energy that will be considered.
Together we will build an achievable personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan, and I will coach you through the steps to reignite your inner spark. This might mean addressing old patterns or lifestyle habits: dampening the flames where things are over-geared and adding fuel to areas that need more attention.
To help ground your physical energy, you will develop your understanding of eating to support blood sugar balance, and learn how to avoid those foods, or drinks, which rob you of energy, lower your mood or leave you craving sugar or other stimulants.
Instead, you will learn how to intuitively nourish your body with a rainbow of whole-foods that give you a steady stream of sustainable energy and recharge your batteries at a cellular level. And I’ll equip you with simple, delicious meal plans that are easy to incorporate into a busy lifestyle, advise on eating out and on the go, and help you discover the power of eating mindfully.
We may choose to complement your dietary approach with a supporting therapeutic supplement plan to help ensure your body’s nutritional requirements are fulfilled during busy and stressful times.
You will be introduced to simple but effective stress-management and relaxation rituals that will bring essential ‘recharge time’ to busy days, stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system (support you in ‘rest and digest’) therefore helping bring your body back to balance.
In some instances, we may use clinical tests, such as those highlighted below, to achieve a deeper insight into underlying physical imbalances that may be contributing to your symptoms and help guide our approach to supporting your energy.
