Do you serve meals with LOVE?
Last week my Food & Spirit™ studies took me into the LOVE system of health, where we explored health and wellbeing through the lens of compassion, devotion and expansion.
It seems love is one of the greatest forms of nourishment - and we humans sure do thrive on it!
Giving and receiving, nurturing, healing, forgiveness, gratitude, service, emotional wisdom and passions 'following our heart', are all themes and qualities of the LOVE system.
At a physical level, the heart pumps thousands of litres of blood every day sending this life force to every edge of the body and bringing it alive to its fullest potential. The heart connects to the element of air in the way that it works in concert with the lungs to oxygenate the blood and to move the circulation of blood and lymph. When we expand and breathe into the things we feel passion for, we are truly living in coherence with our heart.
A healthy balanced LOVE system means we can harmonise the feelings and love we have for others, without compromising the expression of our own feelings and love of ourselves.
Make sure you're both valuing and nurturing yourself - and extending love to those you make food for - by including plenty of phyto compound-rich vegetables, particularly GREENS, which nourish the whole body and breathe life into cardiovascular health.
